Chelsea defender set for improved contract

Chelsea are set to offer Antonio Rudiger with improved terms as a reward for his fine start to the season, claims The Daily Mail.

Maurizio Sarri’s aspect declared a brand new five-year deal for left-back Marcos Alonso on Wednesday and want Rudiger to follow suit.

The Germany international solely joined Chelsea twelve months past and still has quite 3 years left to run on his current deal.

However, Rudiger has leapfrogged point of entry Cahill and Andreas Christensen in the pecking order under Sarri and is a first-team regular this season.

Rudiger has fashioned such a powerful partnership with David Luiz that each Christensen and and Cahill are now considering January exits.

Rudiger has only missed 21 minutes of league action this season and Chelsea are planning contract talks with his representatives.

The 25-year-old scored his initial goal of the season in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Manchester United last weekend.

Furthermore, only Mateo Kovacic (94.6%) contains a better pass success rate than Rudiger (91.7%) of all Chelsea players in the league this season (1+ start).
