Man City pile more pressure on Chelsea
Riyad Mahrez came off the bench to score the decisive goal as Manchester City beat Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.
This win allowed Manchester City to cut the gap to Premier League leaders Arsenal to five points.
Chelsea, on the other hand, remained in 10th place and are as close to the relegation zone as they are to the top four. Chelsea had to make two substitutions before the 20th minute due to injuries to Raheem Sterling and Christian Pulisic.
Despite this, Chelsea had the better chances in the first half and came close to scoring when Carney Chukwuemeka hit the post.
In the second half, Manchester City improved and had several chances before finally scoring through Mahrez, who tapped in a cross from Jack Grealish.
After taking the lead, Manchester City sat back and successfully defended their lead, holding on for the win.
