Bukayo Saka has expressed his belief that Arsenal is the ideal place for him to take the next step in his career, following the signing of a new long-term contract with the Premier League runners-up.
The 21-year-old English forward has had an exceptional season with the Gunners, netting 14 goals across all competitions and providing 11 assists.
Saka made his debut for Arsenal in November 2018 and has since accumulated 178 appearances for the North London club, scoring 37 goals.
“I’m absolutely delighted,” Saka stated on Tuesday, having agreed to a deal that will keep him at the club until at least 2027. “There has been a lot of speculation, but I’m here now. I firmly believe that this club is the right one, the perfect place for me to take the next step. It’s a fantastic club—just look at where we stand.”
“For me, it’s about accomplishing my personal ambitions—how much I can push and challenge myself in every game, week in and week out. Moreover, I have the right people surrounding me, such as my family, and when I come to the training ground, my teammates and the coaching staff.”
“I believe that I possess all the necessary tools to become the best player I can be. That is why I’m overjoyed to stay here and commit to the future, as I genuinely believe that we can achieve great things.”
Although Arsenal fell short in the title race, finishing second to Manchester City, they can still take solace in securing Champions League football for the first time since 2017.
“I’ve witnessed significant changes,” Saka added. “I’ve seen this team and the club progress, and one thing that should excite everyone is that we are moving in the right direction.”
“We have time on our side. Our team consists of many young players who are hungry and have yet to win trophies with Arsenal. We aspire to achieve great things. Just listen to the way we talk; we have a burning desire to win, especially here.”
“It has been far too long since this club experienced Champions League football. I eagerly anticipate Tuesday and Wednesday nights at this stadium—the atmosphere will be truly remarkable.”
Saka joins goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale in committing to a new contract in recent days, and manager Mikel Arteta expressed his delight at the latest development.
“Extending Bukayo’s contract is fantastic news for the club,” stated the Spaniard.
“Retaining our finest young talents is crucial for our continued progress, and Bukayo plays an integral role in our squad, both now and in the future.”
“In addition to his extraordinary talent, Bukayo is a remarkable individual. He is cherished by all of us and is a credit to himself and his family for their unwavering dedication and hard work in reaching this level.”
“Together with our fans, we eagerly anticipate witnessing Bukayo’s continued growth and development in the years ahead.”
