Arsenal sign striker Leandro Trossard from Brighton
On Friday, Arsenal, the current leaders of the Premier League, announced the signing of versatile Belgium international winger Leandro Trossard from Brighton & Hove Albion on a long-term contract.
The 28-year-old, who was a part of Belgium’s World Cup squad in Qatar and has 24 appearances for his country, is eligible for selection against Manchester United on Sunday.
Trossard has scored 7 goals in 16 league appearances this season, including a hat-trick against Liverpool.
The deal is reported to be for four and a half years and cost Arsenal 27 million pounds ($33.43 million).
Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, said, “Leandro strengthens our squad as we head into the second part of the season.” Trossard stated that he believes he can improve under Arteta’s guidance.
Arsenal is currently 5 points clear of Manchester City and has a game in hand at the top of the standings.
