Aston Villa dominates Tottenham at home

Tottenham began the new year with a disappointing loss to Aston Villa, failing to score and conceding two goals in the second half.

This marks the tenth consecutive match in which Tottenham have conceded first. Antonio Conte made a few changes to the lineup, including starting Bryan Gil in the attack with Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min in place of Dejan Kulusevski, who was absent due to a muscle injury.

Eric Dier was also moved to the bench, with World Cup winner Cuti Romero taking his place in defense alongside Clement Lenglet and Ben Davies.

Matt Doherty remained at right wingback, and the midfield was composed of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Yves Bissouma.

Hugo Lloris returned as goalkeeper. The final score was 0-2, with goals from Emi Buendia and Douglas Luiz for Aston Villa.
