Chelsea Football Club announced on Wednesday that they have loaned Portuguese forward Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid until the end of the season.
Chelsea reportedly paid Atletico Madrid a €11m ($11.8m) loan fee and will cover Felix’s wages during his time at Stamford Bridge.
This is the fourth new arrival at Chelsea this month, following the permanent signings of French defender Benoit Badiashile from Monaco, Brazilian teenager Andrey Santos from Vasco de Gama, and Ivorian striker David Datro Fofana.
Felix hopes to provide a boost to the team, who have struggled in scoring goals this season and currently sitting 10th in the table. Felix’s former club Atletico Madrid paid €126m for him as a 19-year-old from Benfica.
And, he contributed 34 goals and 18 assists in 131 appearances and help the club win La Liga in 2021, but, haven’t fully met their high expectations for him.
